The Real Reason WWE Released Brad Maddox: Foul Language?

As reported earlier, WWE announced the release of Brad Maddox from his contract on their official website today. It now appears there was something specific Maddox did this week that got him in hot water with WWE management.

PWInsider reports that Maddox was released due to language he used on the microphone before a dark match at this week’s SmackDown tapings. Prior to his dark match against R-Truth, he used the phrase “cocky pr*cks” in a promo.

WWE officials were so upset with the language, they issued Maddox his release from the company the day before Thanksgiving.

Maddox hadn’t been regularly used on WWE TV since he was fired as the on-air GM in 2014. He had been working house shows and dark matches prior to his release, and recently took part in The Undertaker’s skit on The Tonight Show.
