John Cena Returns On WWE Monday Night RAW, To Compete At Royal Rumble

Former WWE Champion John Cena made his return to the flagship show of the WWE, Monday Night RAW, during this week’s episode in Orlando, FL at the Amway Center on the USA Network.

Cena cut a promo in the ring to open the show where he announced that he would be competing in the men’s Royal Rumble match. This led to Drew McIntyre walking out and exchanging words with the former WWE Champion. It set up a brawl involving Cena, Finn Balor, and Seth Rollins taking on Bobby Lashley, Dean Ambrose, and McIntyre. Once returning from commercial break, a six-man tag team match was booked and saw the babyfaces go over.

This marked his first appearance on RAW since the April 2nd episode when he was building up his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. He then went on hiatus to focus on his acting and television career.

Cena returned to in-ring action under the WWE banner late last month starting at a live event at Madison Square Garden. He also made his return on SmackDown Live for the New Year’s Day edition of the blue brand when he teamed up with Becky Lynch to take on Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega in a mixed tag team match.

Cena is advertised to work a few more events including next Monday’s episode of RAW.
