Colt Cabana Addresses Lawsuit Against CM Punk

Colt Cabana briefly spoke on his pending lawsuit against CM Punk during a recent episode of his podcast. The “Art of Wrestling” host is suing his former friend for the cost of legal fees stemming from WWE’s lawsuit against the two of them.

Cabana said he wished news of the lawsuit had not leaked out and he does not sound as though he’s interested in discussing it much.

“All I want is for this thing to be settled,” Cabana said on the show. “I don’t have anything to say about it. I’m going to try not to say anything about this until after everything unfolds, I guess.”

Cabana would continue to say that the rumors regarding a falling out between him and Punk stemming from Cabana going backstage at a WWE event are untrue. The last time Cabana says he was backstage at a WWE event was 4 years ago when he interviewed Hornswoggle for his podcast.

Cabana claims to have text messages from Punk stating he would pay for the pair’s legal defense. Something changed during the course of their defense, however, and Punk evidently has not paid for Cabana’s half of their lawyer bill.

Cabana is suing for the $200,000 he must pay lawyers along with $1 million in punitive damages.
