ECW original The Sandman is scheduled to compete against former two-time heavyweight boxing champion Tim Witherspoon in a five-round match to determine the first ever “World Xtreme Entertainment” champion.
The Sandman-Witherspoon bout will include a special referee, as former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas will serve as the celebrity ref for the match.
The WXE event will be promoted by controversial promoter Damon Feldman, who was involved in some of the celebrity boxing events in the past.
A press conference for the show will be held on Thursday at Chickie and Petes on 1526 Packer Avenue in South Philadelphia.
Feldman notes in the press release that several “Hollywood actors and athletes” are on board with the company, and that the first event will also feature a “tag-team boxing match” and an “Xtreme Battling Babes title match.”
