It’s time for the Daily Drop. This is Friday, May 31, and it’s the last day of the month. Since we’ve made it to the end of the month, that means we have contracts coming up tomorrow for both AEW and WWE.
Becky Lynch’s WWE deal is up on June 1, and she has not signed a new deal yet. This is a very interesting situation, as she is sure to be a top free agent.
Arn Anderson is leaving AEW, with his last official day on May 31. June 1 will mark Anderson’s return to free agency, where he will help his son, Brock Anderson, as he also left AEW.
Chad Gable’s WWE contract is also running up at the end of the week. We will have to see if he inks a new deal, or if the Alpha Academy storyline will end very abruptly on RAW.

WWE SmackDown Card for 5/31:
- Nia Jax Queen of the Ring coronation ceremony
- Cody Rhodes to appear
- Bayley and Piper Niven’s feud continues
Janel Grant Lawsuit Stay: Grant’s allegations led to Vince McMahon stepping down from WWE and TKO in January. However, the court confrontation will be delayed. Grant has agreed to postpone the lawsuit at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice, pending a private investigation.
Samantha Irvin Is Angry: The RAW ring announcer got some new viral attention when WWE released a video of her reaction to when Ricochet had a win stolen from him by an invading Bron Breakker. This video speaks for itself.

Giulia Out of Surgery: Recent WWE signee Giulia injured her wrist during her last match in Rossy Ogawa’s Marigold promotion. She was urged to get surgery by WWE, and that is what happened. Now she is officially on the mend, and waiting for everything to heal back to 100%.
More Uncle Howdy Shenanigans: WWE tweeted and deleted a very interesting image. This appeared to be someone jumping in a lake with a caption saying “Signs and Wonders.” Obviously, we’re getting close to seeing what WWE is up to, but nobody knows exactly when the big reveal will go down.

Afa Update: WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i, known from the Wild Samoans tag team, has been dealing with health issues. He will undergo back surgery on Monday to correct loosened screws that he has in his back from a previous surgery.
AEW:
Mercedes’ Gift From Clooney: Legendary Hollywood name and blockbuster actor, George Clooney, from Oceans and ER fame, is also a fan of Mercedes Mone. He gifted her a case of Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila. We can assume she made good use of it to celebrate her TBS Title win at AEW Double or Nothing.
Jeff Hardy’s AEW Contract: Matt Hardy said on his podcast that Jeff’s contract is up in mid-June. Matt is already a free agent, as he departed from AEW earlier this month. “He’s got till like mid-June or so I think, and then his deal’s up. So I guess we’ll see if he ends up re-signing or not re-signing. Who knows?”
