Samoa Joe Returns On WWE RAW

Samoa Joe is back

As expected, Samoa Joe made his return to WWE television on Monday’s episode of RAW in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center on the USA Network.

While Joe didn’t return to in-ring action, he did rejoin the announcement team. Earlier in the day, his return was reported by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet. He replaced WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler.

Joe had done commentary for the flagship show of WWE before. Last year, he replaced Dio Madden on the team.

It was reported back in November that Joe, who received rave reviews from fans, was being recognized backstage for how good he is in that role.

The reason that Joe was chosen for this role was due to him being out of action after suffering a thumb injury back in September. It turns out that injury also put him back in the chair as a color commentator in 2020.

The “RAW: Must Be Monday” commercial was filmed in February and released in March.

It turns out that this is the same commercial where Joe suffered a concussion while filming it. At the time, it was reported Joe suffered the concussion while taking a bad table bump during a commercial shoot.

As recent as last week it was reported that Joe wasn’t medically cleared from his concussion.
