Daily Drop (5/10): Upcoming WrestleMania Plans, AEW Star Skye Blue Gets Big Support

Welcome to the Daily Drop for Friday, May 10. This edition will catch you up on everything going on in the pro wrestling world, as we scour the internet for the perfect content.

First off, we have a bit of a correction to a previous story about WrestleMania 43’s location. It was initially reported that the Detroit Sports Commission is drafting a proposal to host the show of shows in their city. It turns out that is not the case, as they released a statement denying that is happening.

Now let’s get into today’s Daily Drop!

WWE:

WrestleMania 41 Plans: Although the dust from WrestleMania XL is still clearing, there are already plans for The Rock to make a return next year in Las Vegas for Mania 41. It was reported that the current idea is for the Final Boss to make his return to face Cody Rhodes, just as he promised. It’s unclear whether the match will be for Cody’s title, Rock’s People’s Championship, or a winner-take-all situation.

Lashley Pulls Out Of KOTR: The King of the Ring tournament is still going strong, but Bobby Lashley won’t be a part of it now. WWE SmackDown GM Nick Aldis delivered the sad news that the Almighty had to withdraw from the tournament, and Angelo Dawkins will take his spot.

WWE 2K24 Update: Gamers are very excited about the upcoming ECW DLC pack from 2K24. This will include the Dudley Boyz, Terry Funk, The Sandman, and CM Punk. 2K gave fans an even better look at Funk yesterday as they gave us a first look, and they later dropped his entrance.

AEW:

Chuckie T Is Out: Although some thought that this was all a part of an AEW storyline, it seems that Chuck Taylor’s injury is legit, and it will actually never wrestle again.

Skye Blue Gets Support: After getting harrassed by a fan at an indie show, AEW star Skye Blue took to Twitter/X and shared her story. She received a ton of support from the pro wrestling community, even WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler weighed in on the situation.

Here are the upcoming major wrestling events

  • Saturday, May 25: King & Queen of the Ring (PLE)
  • Sunday, May 26: AEW Double or Nothing (PPV)
  • Sunday, June 9: NXT Battleground (PLE)
