Tommaso Ciampa Details Neck Injury (Video)

Former WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa opened up on the neck injury that ultimately led to him getting surgery and relinquishing the title.

He got the surgery done last month, and as of this writing, there’s no timetable for his return. This is unfortunate for Ciampa as he has been one of the best heels in NXT and was recently called up to the main roster.

The YouTube channel of the WWE Performance Center shared part one of a video of Ciampa documenting his neck injury. Once he started having stingers while competing in the ring, he just thought that he had wrestlers neck, but that wasn’t the case as the pain continued to get worse.

This was when Ciampa admitted that, “My spinal column became in jeopardy. The call was taken out of everybody’s hands.” That’s when the call was made as one more bad bump, and it could be severe.

In the early portion of this video, Triple H confirmed that original plans called for Ciampa to make his next title defense against Johnny Gargano at the NXT TakeOver: New York event on Friday, April 5, 2019, in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center during WrestleMania 35 weekend.
