Daily Drop 5/21: WWE Preparing New Stable, AEW’s Eddie Kingston Gets Bad Injury News

It’s May 21, and it’s time for the Daily Drop. We have a lot of things to go over on a Tuesday, because WWE RAW was last night and there is a big weekend ahead of us.

We saw half of the King & Queen of the Ring semifinals matches go down on RAW this week. You can check out the updated finals below, as Lyra Valkyria and GUNTHER walked out with the big wins this week.

Cody Rhodes Tells All: While on Busted Open Radio, The American Nightmare shared what The Rock handed him during that segment after WrestleMania XL. He also revealed when WWE told him that The Rock vs Roman Reigns was the planned Mania 40 main event.

Sonya Deville Returns: After a 9-month hiatus due to an ACL injury that needed surgery, Deville made her return this week during WWE RAW. She didn’t have a very long backstage angle, but it’s clear that she is back in the mix.

QR Codes Continue: During WWE RAW this week, they dropped another QR Code that gave fans a big clue about what’s coming. They provided GPS coordinates to “Rowan University.”

Preparing For Something: Dexter Lumis is one of the many Superstars that Triple H re-hired that his father-in-law released. Lumis is said to be a part of the new Wyatt inspired stable with Uncle Howdy. Ahead of his expected return, he has changed up his look. Lumis is now sporting much longer hair and a beard to match.

AEW:

Tay Training: AEW star Tay Melo is training for her in-ring return. She had her daughter in November 2023. Sammy Guevara has returned to AEW television since then, but Tay’s been off camera. She may change that very soon.

Kingston’s Injury: Eddie Kingston’s injury at NJPW Resurgence, where he dropped the final belt of his triple crown title, is worse than anyone thought. Kingston not only has a fractured tibula, but he has a torn meniscus and a torn ACL.

Darby Is Not 100%: In a video posted on AEW’s YouTube channel, Darby Allin spoke to the crowd after the show ended, revealing that he has not yet fully recovered from his extensive injuries.
