This is your Daily Drop for May 24, and we have a lot to get into. This weekend will be packed with pro wrestling news, as the King & Queen of the Ring is going down on Saturday, with AEW Double or Nothing on the following day.
Before we get going, the importance of the King & Queen of the Ring tournament was kicked up several notches. Triple H revealed that the winners of the 2024 tournaments will get title matches at SummerSlam this year.

Jim Ross’ Health Status: Beloved announcer Jim Ross was admitted to the hospital yesterday due to shortness of breath. His daughters came to visit him as well. Ross also revealed that he does still smoke cigarettes, but he is now going to quit at 72-years-old.

Kenny Omega’s Surgery: Kenny Omega recently underwent surgery in New York on May 16 to treat his diverticulitis. This explains the recent photos of him spotted around the city. Currently, AEW has no specific creative plans for Omega as he embarks on a lengthy recovery period.
Bad News For King: After his NJPW Resurgence match, Eddie Kingston will be out of action for quite some time. He came out to reveal that it may be a full year until we see him wrestle again.
MJF’s Return: He’s been out of action since Worlds End, and AEW fans haven’t seen him yet this year. That being said, things are reportedly in motion for his comeback. There is a hope that the Salt of the Earth may be back in the fold by Forbidden Door.

WWE SmackDown Card for 5/24 Episode in Saudi Arabia:

Patrick Mahomes x WWE: Shoo-in future NFL Hall of Famer, and possibly the new GOAT of the game, Patrick Mahomes is open to doing something in the ring with WWE. Triple H then extended an open invitation. Mahomes recently appeared alongside Logan Paul and IShowSpeed during the 2024 WWE Draft.
SummerSlam 2026: WWE announced that Minneapolis, although they won’t get WrestleMania, is getting a two-night SummerSlam event on August 1 and 2 in 2026.
