Now, let’s get into the Daily Drop!

WWE:

Triple H Addresses KOTR Controversy: Randy Orton’s shoulders weren’t 100% down during the entire King of the Ring finals finish, and fans noticed. After the event, Triple H said that he didn’t get to see that angle from his vantage point during the show, but he saw the tape. He then said that GUNTHER and Orton will collide again down the line.

The Great Khali’s New Tattoo: Tattoos are very popular all over the world, and WWE Hall of Famer the Great Khali just got a giant neck tattoo that would rival Cody Rhodes’ American Nightmare logo. It’s a pretty impressive piece of art, especially if you consider how massive Khali’s neck really is.

SummerSlam Title Matches: Nia Jax and GUNTHER won the 2024 Queen and King of the Ring tournaments respectively. They will now get title matches for their brands at SummerSlam. GUNTHER will either face Drew McIntyre or Damian Priest, as the Scottish Psychopath was booked to face the Judgment Day leader for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle on June 15.

More WWE Cuts: The company fired two more executives as Beth Fisher, WWE’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, was let go after 13 years. Also, Tavia Hartley, listed as a Talent Operations and Appearances Manager, was also released.

SEScoops‘ ongoing WWE release and departure tracker has been updated to reflect these latest cuts.

AEW:

Double or Nothing: AEW is preparing to bring another Double or Nothing event to fans. This will mark the company’s five-year anniversary, and you may find a comprehensive breakdown of the event here.

Hiroshi Tanahashi Returns to AEW: New Japan Pro Wrestling’s President Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared on the May 25 episode of AEW Collision. He was the mystery partner for Claudio Castagnoli and Daniel Garcia in a trios match against Lance Archer and The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch). Tanahashi secured the win by hitting Vincent with a Sling Blade and High Fly Flow. With Forbidden Door on June 30, his booking for the event is awaited.

Sting’s Son: Darby Allin revealed that Sting’s son, Steven Borden, who is a former tight end for the University of Kentucky football team, is staying at his house and training to be a pro wrestler. Steven is sleeping in a tent in Allin’s front yard. Initially, Steven hadn’t considered wrestling, but his involvement at AEW Revolution sparked his interest. He portrayed the Wolfpac version of Sting in his entrance.

Absent AEW Star Spotted Before DoN: AEW star Juice Robinson is in Las Vegas for this weekend’s AEW Double or Nothing event. Robinson, a member of the Bang Bang Gang and husband to AEW star Toni Storm, has been sidelined since November 2023 due to a back injury requiring surgery. He last competed on the November 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
