Rey Mysterio Opens Up On His Wrestling Future

Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio opened up on his future in the pro wrestling business after having a long and storied career.

In an interview with SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, he admitted that he can’t see himself competing for much longer when asked how much longer he plans to stick around as an active in-ring performer. This is where Mysterio stated that he can’t see himself competing for much longer.

“I definitely don’t see myself doing this many more years longer.” Mysterio would then talk about opportunities that he has gotten in his return to WWE and the stars that he has faced such as Andrade, who Rey called incredible.

“So, those kind of things bring the desire within me that I can still do this. I can still go. But if I was to do this on the schedule [that he used to have] I don’t think I could handle it.”

Mysterio signed a new 2-year deal with WWE late last year. The agreement reportedly includes a stipulation that he can ‘give notice’ to the company at the 18-month mark.

Mysterio has had a lot of success while competing under the WWE banner that includes holding the WWE’s World Heavyweight Title, Cruiserweight Title, and Tag Team Title, and Intercontinental Title.
