Update On Ticket Sales For WWE MSG TV Events

Ticket sales are "not good" for WWE's MSG return.

WWE is slated to hold TV events for Monday Night RAW on Monday, September 9 and SmackDown Live on Tuesday, September 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

WWE is hyping this as a big deal due it marking the first time in ten years that WWE has aired one of their television programs from the arena. The last WWE show that was held at MSG was this past December for a live event.

Dave Meltzer reported on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that ticket sales have been “not good,” but didn’t provide specific ticket sale numbers.

It was noted that neither show has sold-out yet despite WWE thinking that the RAW TV event would be an instant sell-out. WWE viewed this as “exceeding disappointing” that didn’t take place.

Meltzer also noted that WWE had the goal for these shows to have fast sell-outs like NJPW and ROH did with their G1 Supercard this past April but that’s not the case. WWE had hoped to have the 15 minute instant sell-out to show because of the big demand for the product.

For the RAW TV event, Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre is advertised to take place while WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will defend his title against Randy Orton at the SmackDown TV event.
